An important part of our work involves staying abreast of contemporary Nordic theatre, reading new plays, developing relationships with playwrights and in some cases working with playwrights on script development. Essential part to this process is presenting staged readings of new works and works in progress.

Forward from The Arctic Cycle by Chantal Bilodeau
Workshop and staged reading directed by Jennifer Vellenga.
Forward began in October 2011 with playwright Chantal Bilodeau’s participation in the Arctic Circle program, a two-week sailing expedition that explored the many fjords of the Svalbard archipelago, located halfway between Norway and the North Pole. The play was developed over three years in collaboration with Akvavit Theatre in Chicago, Kansas State University, and Hålogaland Teater in Tromsø, Norway.
